Eliza Salem
Eliza Salem (she/they) is an in-demand drummer currently based in Brooklyn. Salem is a Metro DC native who learned their craft in the Washington area’s vibrant musical scene and in the spring of 2021 received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan. Over the last several years Salem has worked professionally as a bandleader and side person in the greater Detroit and D.C. areas at renowned venues such as Cliff Bell’s, the Blue Llama Jazz Club, Columbia Station, An Die Musik, the Keystone Korner, Twins, and Jojo’s. Since moving to New York City in 2021, they regularly play at acclaimed performance spaces such as Dizzy’s, Smalls, Mezzrow, Ornithology, the Harlem Museum of Jazz, 55 Bar, Cafe Bohemia, and more. Salem has also performed nationally at festivals across the country, including the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Newport Jazz Festival, and at SFJAZZ for the Joe Henderson festival.
