Jared Beckstead-Craan
Born in Canada and raised in Antananarivo, Madagascar and Beijing, China, Jared Beckstead-Craan is an artist, musician, composer, double-bassist and educator based in Brooklyn. Jared’s unique sound comes from a confluence of their eclectic upbringing, their passion for learning and embodying the history of Black American Music and their desire to explore their Haitian heritage through art. They have performed in the United States and internationally with such luminaries as Quincy Davis, Michael Dease, Jon Gordon, Jocelyn Gould and the Carr Center’s Gathering Orchestra under the direction of Rodney Whitaker.
