Madison Greenstone
Madison Greenstone is a clarinetist, improviser, and member of TAK Ensemble. Their solo practice explores material and spatial expressivities of sustained sound through richly noisy timbral actions. Recently their work explores dreamlike acoustic mirages, spatial interferences of difference tones and beating, and draws inspiration from fiction writer Yoko Tawada's proposition that there is no such thing as a room with a fixed size. Madison’s work has been presented by Blank Forms, Lampo, ISSUE Project Room, Cafe Oto, KM28, and Morphine Raum, Oscillation Festival (BE), elementi (IT), and Rhizome DC. Madison’s writings on experimental music have been published through Museum of Art and History Neuchâtel, Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb / k-verlag, Contemporary Music Review, and Blank Forms.
