About the Work
Ricardo Romaneiro was commissioned by Brooklyn Botanical Garden and Metropolis Ensemble to create this special healing experience. BBG’s indoor conservatories were transformed into an immersive sanctuary with plants connected to sensors, generating binaural soundscapes created by plant frequencies, and accompanied by musicians scattered throughout each of the ecosystem for a truly unique sonic experience.
This immersive soundbath and light installation merged live performance with electronic soundscapes. No two experiences were alike! Visitors explored each conservatory ecosystem to discover a unique soundscape performance by live musicians. Together and separately, these performances tapped into individual’s breath and brain frequencies to create a connected and unified experience.
